On the morning of March 26, Eastern International University (EIU) held regular Vision Alignment session with the theme “How to improve IQA at EIU”. The event attracted the active participation of unit leaders, lecturers, and staff across the university who gathered to discuss solutions for enhancing Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) at EIU.
At the session, Mrs. Tran Hoai Bao – Director of Office of Quality Assurance – delivered a presentation to staff, lecturers, and university leadership on the topic “How to improve IQA at EIU.” Her presentation focused on four key areas: the internal quality assurance system; the essential factors required for the system to operate effectively; the current IQA framework at EIU; and strategies to improve EIU’s IQA system.

In relation to IQA enhancement at EIU, Mrs. Bao proposed ten critical elements: strong commitment from university leadership; a dedicated organizational structure and professional staff; clear documentation and procedures; mechanisms for data collection and analysis; a robust program evaluation system; innovation in teaching and learning methods; effective evaluation systems for both lecturers and students; a campus-wide quality culture; engagement of stakeholders; and periodic accreditation and evaluation mechanisms.

Following the main presentation, Mr. Lam Tuong Thoai – Advisor to the University Council – provided observations and recommendations from the perspective of an external expert. He suggested that EIU should review and improve its IQA system, reinforce its core evidence portfolio, and enhance the quality of its evaluation and self-assessment processes. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle and strengthening the capacity of the quality assurance team.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hao – Head of Academic Excellence, Office of Academic Affairs – also shared an overview of the AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance) system and program assessment procedures with attending faculty members.
As part of the session, Assoc. He highlighted that the AUN-QA framework, grounded in specific principles, helps identify areas for improvement and facilitates the implementation of context-appropriate quality practices across academic units.

Internal Quality Assurance is playing an increasingly pivotal role in enhancing the quality of higher education, especially in the context of global integration and competition. An effective IQA system not only enables institutions like EIU to review and improve their academic programs, but also promotes transparency, accountability, and enhances the university’s position in educational rankings.
